It was dry for the first two moto's in both classes with a few drops. Then the RAINS came down half way thru the lites second moto! And it down poured during the 450 race!
RC went 1-1 and lapped the field on the second moto! Bubba and Reed were both stuck numerous times on the same corner!
Riders were flopping around like rag dolls! It was a tough race, some of the riders had trouble making it up the hills.
Bikes were stuck in ruts and left standing, while course workers could not move them!
RC said he will race Millville next year!

Looks like James & Chad has some problems in the mud during the second moto going by those results. Headbanger, what happened to Reed in the second moto? It takes more than just difficulty in the mud to drop down to 27th place.

Unless you are looking forward to an Air Conditioned, dry SX only contract? :p

You're a smart a....leck Okie ;)

By the way, there are quite a few supercross rounds that aren't in enclosed "Air Conditioned, dry" stadiums.

Dont say dry SX, it will rain again in Frisco this year

I can only imagine how muddy it was there, about 4-5 years ago it poured during Moto 2 at Hangtown and Rc & Stewart didnt seem too slow..

Congrats RC, You Da Man!!

Speedy Reedy had a great 1st moto, (even though he lost his header pipe). We all thought that he would blow the bike up, but he managed to finish in a strong 3rd. The second moto was the RC show. Bubbles went down numerous times and Reed struggles. DV showed how the Eros ride in the mud with a strong race and KW was strong in the mud.
We spent the entire week there again this year and had a blast. John and Greta Martin put on a awesome race. If you have never made the trip to Millville, it is a must!
My highlight for the entire weekend (other than watching my own son race in the 85cc classes) was Ryan Dungey ride his first Pro event. He didn't disapoint either. In the second moto...I mean mud fest. On the last lap he stopped and was trying to help Josh Grant get out from under his bike. He is an increadible kid! We are proud to know him and his family and wish him well! I now have a new hero! I've never seen anything like it at a national race. He was willing to give up positions to help someone in trouble. I'm not sure what the guys at the Suzuki Rig thought of this move, but he is a class act all the way!

Awesome to hear, and he still finished 7th overall!! Very cool, looks like Makita Suzuki made a great choice in signing the 16-year old kid!

It was awesome. The corner right before the "Holy Schmidt" jump was rutted and full of water (read...one line through it) and Josh went down under his bike. When Ryan came down the Collar Bone hill. he pulled up along side of Josh and started looking for a place to lean his bike up to help. Josh waved him on and Ryan finally took off. One word sums up my thoughts about him.....WOW

I had to do a triple-take on the lap chart for the 450cc second moto. I can't believe Carmichael lapped everyone! I wonder if he is the first to do that in any race, SX or MX. Quite an accomplishment, especially in the mud.

I guess the only thing left for RC to do is lap himself! :whoa:

Looks like RC should clinch the title next week, at Round 10 of a 12 round series.

Not too shabby.

G.O.A.T for sure. There is really not even an arguement. No one else, past or present, can compare.

I really really really really hope RC races the full outdoor series again in 2007. I'm thinking if he wins the first few rounds on his "limited" schedule, he might stick it out for another championship. If anything, maybe 2007 will be the year we actually have some close racing between #4 and #7, that is if #7 can put together a 12-round MX series on the big bike.

Yeah I was really impressed to see Dungy stop to help and he did not leave until course workers arrived to asist. If he could have set his bike down I bet he would have  .
I really think we got to see the ultimate MX weekend- beautiful groomed track conditions first moto with very fast racing and then a true down and dirty who has the balls to survive 2nd set of motos.
Reed got stuck in a rut in the off camber uphill and abandonned his bike until he was lapped 2 times - it took that long for course workers to get it free. Then on the next time around he went right into the same rut and got stuck in the same place :bang: . Bubba couldn't negotiate the off camber and would come down hill go off into the spectators in the sand and then do a 180 and pin it and pray as he tried to make it up that section- he made it about half the time
The GOAT- you know the guy who is washed up and just survives by luck ;) - wasn't fazed by the conditions he just kept riding and passing guys. He was so pumped and the crowd just fed him more energy every time he lapped another guy. Problem was nobody in the crowd could tell after a while who was who except for DV and RC. Kept hearing names that I never heard before as being in 3rd- great ego boosts for alot of true back of the pickup truck privateers.
I know when Chili gets home he will blame me because I said on Thursday I wanted to see a mud race

The announcers on the track radio said the field had been lapped one other time in history but I do not remember what year or who it was.
We had the full view of him passing DV right in front of us. Unfortunately I don't think many in the crowd actually knew what was happening. This was the first time I rememberred to take a radio along and it made the racing even more exciting knowing what was happening especially in the mud motos. There is nothing like looking at the lake which was formerly a track and hearing about RC back in the whoops passing 15 guys in one pass thru them

It was an awesome race, we didn't have a radio so the second moto was try to pick out the rider, not slip down the hill and watch those who were slipping down the hill. (I’m guessing a lot of people are very thankful for the actual Spring Creek, to wash off in after sliding down the clay hills :) )

Oh and Ryan is the guy!

One of those guys in 3rd after was cheesehead Brad Modjewski after the first lap! It was RC, Bubba, then him. He was still in fourth after lap two, only letting Ferry past. Even had the sixth fastest lap time, in front of factory riders like Windham, Millsaps, Preston, Reed, Byrne, Voss, etc. How cool is that!! :yeehaw:

You bet I knew that name we had half of the Aztalan club members sitting together and every lap Brad got a loud cheer as he went by. I was impressed with him in practice and his qualifier but that first couple laps in 3rd place was truely more then I could ever imagine for him. He rode hard and no matter what anyone could say he was on the very same mud slop that the other riders were on and he was handling it

He made a comment saying if he was in the points, he would compete in every round.. I dont see him not being in the points chase anytime soon.. I personally dont see him going into Nascar, some of the up and comers have been racing cars most of their lives.. I think he wants too beat Stewart straight up, not win by Stewart being injured or falling.. Braggin rights
