Is there a flyer or something online? I MIGHT be able to make it, but I'd need a partner. I need to know what time the race starts, how long, cost, etc...
Well, I don't think I can make it now. I'm getting a new bike next weekend, a 1999 XR200R, provided it's in good shape. But, I'm going to Kelowna for a ski trip at Big White at the end of the week and will probably be coming home on Saturday, and I'll probably be too tired to race the next day after 2-3 days of snowboarding in a row.
AHHH! I've been wanting to go to that race forever, but I'm always too busy to go! Last weekend, I went to state basketball tournament, this weekend I'm going to Sandpoint ID to go skiing at Schweitzer, and on the weekend of the 24th, I have to head up to the local ski hill to take a test to be a certified ski instructor. AHHH! Busy schedule. I need to ride to get used to my new boots. If I don't, I'll never shift right again...
OK, my current plans are to arrive over there friday night probably. From the event's web site, I see that they have camping. Anyone camped there? Is that a bad idea? Is this place like an ORV park? If I get there friday night, can I ride there sat, or is this place private property? Other local places to ride? Anyone else going to be there saturday and want to hook up? Oh, and I still need a partner, or I'm Ironmaning it:eek: Slickhenry, you out there?
It's been snowing off & on for most of the month it seems - shouldn't stick though.
The area is an ORV park and they do have camping but I have not camped there - it's only a 40 minute trip for us. They have an MX track and a flat track (at least they did last year). The tracks are open everyday but they close them the day before an event for grooming - not sure if that holds true for the Harescramble but it does for the MX and SX series races. For more info go here:
They list a number at the bottom if you want to call about riding on Saturday. Otherwise 7 Mile is about 30 minutes from there for some muddy pre-riding.
bbbom, thanks for the info. For anyone who'll be there saturday. Does someone have a smaller bike that my wife could use to learn to ride on? It looks like she may be coming along with me so she doesn't have to stay home alone. It's be a perfect time to teach her, but my XR400 is a little too big.:debil:
BTW, Who all is coming, and when are you arriving? Shoould we all try to meet up some place? I'm going to arrive there ether saturday morning, or saturday afternoon (afternoon if my wife comes). Hope to meet some of you there!
We will be there Sunday morning most likely - nothing is ever for sure on the mountain until we get down to the lowlands. ;)
White 97 F250 ext cab with 2 CR500's (#007 & 007), 1 CR80E (#911) and maybe a PW80 and LEM50 (not sure if the girls will race or not), 3 bbbit's, 1 bbbom and 1 kjom.
Did you find a partner yet Hondaxrguy?
The kids will definitely entertain your wife if she makes it and you can find where we pit it will be somewhere along pitrow. We don't really have any beginner friendly bikes in our collection but my CR is a nice lady's bike.
Right now I'm planning on being there but don't know for sure--events are conspiring against me. I am leaving Tacoma at the crack of dawn Sunday morning to drive over and am staying Sunday night in Spokane. That's the plan so far.
Nope still no partner. :whiner: I guess no one likes me. Oh well. I have a couple people saying "maybe" but that doesn't help too much. I'm REALLY hoping that Slickhenry will come along. He's an awesome guy, and we are basically the same speed so we'd make a good team. Ya out there Slick?
