sst=race gas?

i recently found out my yz250 is equipped with and fmf sst pipe (i didn't know because there was a pipe guard) i hear alot about sst's being hard on your engine and i was wondering if regular (89 oct, i think?) is alright to run. also, is champion 2 cycle oil okay? how important is premix manufactured specifically for dirtbikes (brand name expensive stuff)?

Why would you ever run 89 octane? Premium is only $0.10 more per gallon. If you ride all day and burn 4 gallons of gas, that is a difference of $0.40 per gallon to ride the bike. The peace of mind is certainly worth the less than 2 quarters it costs to steup up to premium.
