stator and flywheel replacement

I have a 1985 KDX200 had a broken magnet and one of the stator coils is wrecked. I purchased a basket case 1991 bike with a flywheel and stator. Can I just slip the '91 stator and flywheel on the '85? There is no problem with attachment points or connectors, but has there been any change in the timing or any internals/electrics that may affect how the '85 performs?

try it out...its not hard to do ...just slap it on and if it doesnt fit or work then i guess thats your answer

Check to see if the 91 runs a 6V system or a 12 V system. My 83 is 6V and a 12 V stator would wreak havoc on everything electronic.
