Stator Specs

symptom: Bike usually starts on kick. Runs fine in high rpm as long as I wish but once I drop to a certain rpm (guessing about 2000) she quits like someone just hit the kill switch. 1 or 2 kicks shes running again, will go into high rpm, buts quits the first time the rpm drops again. Compression is good, no wiring shorts visible, carb just rebuild and definetly clean. Pulled off the old stator and prime winding were burnt. replaced with a used stator, now it sparks but won't start. Does anyone know the specs on the windings?? Does anyone know if I am barking up the right tree? What are the typical symptoms of a failing CDI? Coil?

Well, the only problem that I could think of is that the used stator is junk, or even more, your timing is off. I was flipping through the manual for my bike it said that if the alternator and stator were replaced as a pair, that the timing would be good. But if replaced separately, you would have to set the timing again. So look through your manual on how to set timing on bike.

You wouldn't happen have the specs for the stator handy would you? So I can test the old stator
