I was spectating at the Milwaukee arenacross amateur races on Sunday, 2/10 in which there was very nasty accident during the last race. I don't wish to go into details but as a rider, my prayers are with the rider and his family. If anyone knows his status, could you reply as it really shook me and has been on my mind. Thanks.

Status of injured Milwaukee arenacross rider? Found out

Thanks for all that viewed with intentions of helping. I found the info I needed. The rider is intensive care currently. In short, I witnessed him getting alot of throttle from either over gripping out of the whoops or from his throttle stuck wide open, going thru a trun, off the track and impacting a concrete overhang. If you ride indoors, PLEASE think about how indoors affects your margin of error. What if you overshoot that turn? What's on the other side? A bulldozer? What are the consequences? Being a "C" class rider I had spectated a few indoor races and had plans on racing them in the future. Not anymore. Just my two cents as what I witnessed left me quit disturbed.

Really sorry to say this

The rider injured at the Milwaukee arena X passed away at the hospital. I have no other info other than he was 39 yrs old and from Wisconsin Rapids.

The crash shook my son thekid up pretty bad as he was standing in the ramp to the pits when the guy went down right there. Something I hoped he wouldn't see ever.

If I get more info on the rider I'll pass it on

Oldguy, thanks for the information. I was praying that it looked worse then it was, although I knew it was very bad. I was sitting about 6 rows up from were he hit with my 8 year old daughter who starting trail riding last year. I just hugged her, turned her away and told her she didn't need to see. I tracked backwards from the arenacross cross website from those that did not start. There were two and a friend rulled one out. I called the sponsor out in wisconsin rapids and they heard the news but were unable to verify it with the family. I called the hospital yesterday and they did confirm they had a patient in icu that I believed to be the rider. Where did you hear that he passed away? The name I came up with was Scott Rowe. My thoughts are with the family. If you ride, re-consider indoors. If you choose to ride indoors, please take this to heart and be careful. Never say that couldn't happen to me. Oldguy, I hope your son works thru this, be there for him. The vision and the "what if's and why's" haven't stop running thru my head since that nite. It will be sometime before I get over it myself.

Scott Rowe is also the name I heard, although not confirmed. Also with a PeeWee rider:( He is from W Rapids and is a beginner rider that was entered. Our top riders have a tough time on tracks like these, I don't know why beginners would even try. I know everybody gets antsy around this time, we all have been off our bikes for sometime, and just want to go ride somewhere, but these are not the events for just an ocassional rider.

I've been hearing rumors of this the last two days and talked to two people who were there. they both said it looked pretty bad. I have to agree with Zoomer, there is probably alot of riders who don't belong out there and NO sport is worth dying for. My sympathies to all involved.:(

Hey all, I have some good news. Scott apparently has moved out of icu. I called the hospital this morning, Wed 9:15 a.m., he is still there and is moved into a room. Without being a family member, that's all I could get. The fact that he has a room leads me to believe he is not in intensive care? If possible, drop a card in the mail and let him know he's in your thoughts and we're pulling for him. If you have access to any other forums where Scott has come up, please up date it and encourage sending a note to him.
