did a search but nothing too good-

I'm considering using steel clutch plates instead of the alum plates in the next change.
I ride tight slow woods to get to the faster stuff and i'm using the clutch alot.
Any opinions on steel vs alum for woods riding?
Benefits vs shortcomings?

I read that the steel plates will last longer, keep the trans oil cleaner, and add mass to the crankshaft to make low-end a little better...

Any comments would be helpfull. Thanks!

I have all steels in my '99 CR 250. All of the reasons you mentioned are true in my experience. I ride almost all single track trail, and use the clutch alot. I have been happy with the all steel set-up.

Also, can I change out the clutch discs just by removing the round Clutch Cover, or will I need to take the entire Right Crankcase Cover off?
