ACTION ALERT
Bill S1692 in the NJ Senate establishes two new penalties and enhances existing ones for illegally operating snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles on "public streets, highways and rights-of-way."
The words "rights-of-way" haven't been clearly defined and could be construed to include trails.
This bill is scheduled for a voting session in the State Senate on October 7, 2002.
Please contact the Senate representatives in Trenton today and ask for clarification of "rights of way."
