After a three year stint on a 125sx I finally decided to get a thumper and relax a bit.

Our youngest boy has grown out of his XR and he needs a new bike. Problem is he is still a bit small and inexperienced for a full size bike with mucho power.
He is a bit intimidated by my 125sx, however he wants to give it a go and make it his bike.

I personally love the power distribution of the sx. It is one nice 125 that has nevert let me down, but I would love to tame the bike a bit for the kid.

Has anyone tried mounting a flywheel weight to one of these bikes?
I'm hoping it will be an easy way to make the bike a little less intimidating for Jr.
If so, what size weight would you recommend? And where to purchase a good one?

Jay:

I am considering a 9 oz. weight for my 200. Fe Princess has one on her 200 if I remember correctly. SFO will likely confirm ... Don't know where to locate one as I wasn't sure until riding the bike at DW. I have heard that that smooths out the power delivery.

Dang, I never did get to see your thumper.
