This is really one of those techniques that you will learn when you are ready. Until you are comfortable enough on the jump face to start experimenting with moving/leaning on the jump face, this isin't really something you should try. Having said that, a search should tell you all you need to know.

Unless you can whip the bike huge both ways at will you're wasting your time and potentially going to hurt yourself with the scrub. I see kids at the track all the time doing what I call the C class twitch thinking they are scrubbing the jump like the pro's.

That's about what I can do, so I don't bother.

Exactly...plus it seems you have to be super fast to pull it off correctly. I have been watching riders very closely at the track try to scrub. I have only seen ONE guy be able to do it Stewart style...last year he scrubbed himself off the jump and ended up spending a couple of weeks in the ICU....
