Oh, I thought that person teaching me how to fall correctly and in no way took that as an accident. ;) . I personally wasn't going to mention that, but now that the cat is out of the bag, ah, whoever did that sure did it gracefully and got points for style. I learned how to lose the front end last week at Manchester. I'm just not that good at the process of what to do when the bike comes out from under you unexpectedly as mine seems to try to do on an all too often basis!

I know someone that has very profesional techniques on how to properly quarterback slam a tree if anyones interested........:laugh: :laugh:.......sorry no more comments about those who can't defend themselves:) We'll call the accused "XRbeastrider". This person is not a computer person so he has no way to defend himself on this site. Although there is still a tree doubled over in pain in Manchester as we speak;)

Speaking of trees and how hard they are. I was waiting for MadMark to get to the mtn bike track Sat. morning and thought I would have a go at the semi bmx track in the woods at Andrews and found out how strong a 4 inch diameter tree really is. That little jump put me dead in the path of a nice solid tree :scream: that I tried like crazy to scare out of the way. I did manage to throw my forearm up in the air so I hit my head (helmeted of course), forearm and inside of my knee. I still have scars from that. Pretty sad when you are more danegerous on a mtn. bike than a motocross bike. LOL

And it is amazing how fast 280lbs can come to a stop :eek:

LOL I've had some of my worst accidents on bicycles Jim, thats why I stick to the DIRT bikes for the most part. I'm not real sure I want to ride w/ya'll one bicycles if thats the results.......:eek: :laugh:

Yeah...I meant to show you how to lay the bike down for proper right-side-up inspection...that's the ticket, I meant to do it!

Bryan, I wasn't going to delve any further into the XRBeastRider's unconventional methods of getting wood! :o

Jim...pfft!  You couldn't get 280lbs if you *jumped* on the scale.  I'm pretty sure I sagged the springs more than you did!

I have a GT Pro XL BMX bike that has kicked my butt and is now destined for the occasional ride through the neighborhood when I want to hear the neighbors exclaim things like:

"Mommy!  Call Ringling Brothers...one of their elephants escaped on a bicycle!"

"Daddy, aren't those tires supposed to be round?"

"Ethel, who's the guy waddling around with a bicycle stuck in his butt crack?"

Gomer, if I jumped on the scales, they wouldn't get back up. I lied, I was only 278 on Monday. I am sure most of the weight is in my bucket head though. The difference on the bicycles that freaks me out is that when you are in the air, there is nothing between your legs to hold on too. There is a nice bmx track about 5 mile from house we go to sometimes and Alex rides. Nowhere near as much fun as motorcycles though.

yeah, well if it doesn't sell soon I am going to get the suspension done, already ordered some moose bark busters, and maybe put Stealthy's 14oz. flywheel weight on it and then see what she's like. I need to get someone to work with me on the jetting to I suppose, so I can putt around a little better. i think it's pretty rich. Of course, I am mixing at 32 to 1 with Golden Spectro. My buddy says it should be more like 42 to 1 with the synthetic.

Any ideas on the oil thing?

Jim,

You are definitely mixing too much oil-40:1 should be fine and help with some of the spooge. I can give you a hand with the jetting too-I have a decent selection here. Maybe if we get together this weekend we can see what's in there. Call me or drop me an e-mail.

I don't like the Golden Spectro. If you do switch, make sure you empty the bike completely (and drain the carb) before putting the new mix in.

Or you could just get a thumper and not even have to mix oil...........:laugh: :laugh:

All very good ideas! My buddy that rides the KTM uses the Mobil 1 synthetic. You can get it anywhere and he really likes it. I don't like the Golden S. price especially but that is what the guy that I bought it from uses and I didn't want to switch.

If this thing doesn's sell, I'll just put a 40oz flywheel on it :laugh: and I already ordered some handguards and jus ride it for a while.

Mobil 1 synthetic for the transmission, right? I don't think they make a two stroke oil. I would suggest Honda's HP2 or Yamalube for mixing with the gas.

Regardless...just take the KX to the shop and trade it in on a CRF! (That's how I got ride of 2 of my older bikes when I got this CRF)

Service will arrange for FREE riding lessons if you pay by credit card and have them ship the bike to my house for setup and tuning. I should have it ready within a year.

Gomer, sounds like a nice deal to someone! I'm trying not to lose 8 bucks on a 3k motorcycle trading it in. I am pretty sure he was talking about mixing gas, but not that sure. How about a KTM 300EXC? I will probably ride it this weekend, maybe? Bryan, would you want to come to my house and ride so Mark and I can ride the KTM. It's about 15-20 past Exit 60. I have a good bit of trails to ride. Probably still some trees down but we can ride and work on bikes ;) I like inviting people over to work on my stuff :laugh:
