To clutch or not to clutch?

I'm looking to get the boy his first bike and was wondering which would be a better route to go. He likes the XR80, but would the automatic 70 be easier for him to learn on? He's ridden a 50 only a few times before. What are the pro's and cons of each.

i would go for 80

If your kid has ridden a 50 a few times and enjoys the activity enough to not quit right away, I would go for the 80. He won't outgrow it as fast, and learning the art of the clutch will be benificial later. If he just wants to dink around once a year, go for the 70, although getting a bike at all for something like that I think is a waste.
