I let my neighbor, who owns a tt500 with a it light kit on it, ride my 96 xr250r, their both in running condition, the tt is pretty close to flawless. Would it be worth it to trade straight across? thanks for any input.

its orange and silver, i dont know the year, it has rebuilt forks, new shocks, and a dent in the tank, but it runs good. Im wondering if I really want a classic.

The TT is a fun bike, but it's big and slow and will always be that way. There is nothing particularly "classic" about it. Just a nice bike from the late 70s that feels really "old" when compared to bikes built after it.

But the 77/78 TT's were so purty......

In reality, a newer XR250R is a much better trail bike.

The TT 500 is a great bike. I won 2 Missouri Vintage championships last year on a pretty much original 77 XT 500, and a friend of mine is well on his way to doing the same this year on a 77 TT 500. Parts are easier to find than you may think, and these old bikes are really very reliable. I punished the hell out of the XT, and it never let me down. Also, I know here in Missouri you dont see too many of the orange ones
