Trailer tyres?

I need to put new tyres on my 6x12, single axle, enclosed trailer, It has Titan trailer tires on it.
Do I realy neeed to put trailer tyres back on it or could I put radial truck tyres on it?

Just check out the load capacity of the tires you have on it now and make sure the new tires you put on it meet or exceed that load.

I'm no tire expert but from my experience, regular trailer tires seem to have a stiffer sidewall than comperable car or truck tires. When I pulled trailers with regular truck or car tires on they seemed to sway and want to whip more than with regular trailer tires.

My opinion is go spend the extra money and get the best trailer tires you can buy. Nothing is more frustrating or tiring than trying to drive your truck and trailer down the road and having to fight with it all the way. I've been there and it takes alot of the fun out of the trip.

I agree with DKT. I'm also not a tire expert, but you need to get a tire with a stiff side wall. I had cheep tires on a used trailor I bought and that thing swayed all over the road, especially if I didn't have enough weight on the tongue. I bought better tires with a high ply rating and the trailer pulls fine now.

Get Trailer Tires

After spending 5 hours on a Sunday evening looking for tires, I say get the best trailer-specific tires you can find. I was following a friend form Savannah to Birmingham after a race, and the tires on his 24 foot trailer started shredding. He replaced them with the only tires available, and the new ones only lasted a couple of trips.

Spend the money. The peace of mind will be worth the extra cost.

Trailer tires also have more ozone protection in them. Trailer tires typically sit in the sun a lot more without moving than a car tire.
