I have a 99 TT-R 250....
No mods per say,
I do have the Spark Arrestor and the Airbox Snorkel off.
A noticable difference with that, and at the right price. But I would also like to know what others have and their opinions.
I'm thinking about getting a pipe, so if you have one on your bike, let me know what you think...

Hey CRX how do you like the UNI air filter? Does it help the bike breath anybetter with the tipical airbox modifications and baffile? Also how do you like the exhaust? Does it help the bike any on the top? Always looking for more poniees ontop! :)

Hello!
I have a 2000 TTR250 with a Biggun system on it. I am very happy with the performance of this sytem. The power gains, throttle response and the weight savings (especially on this bike) are noticable. I have removed the snorkle and opened up the air box. I have a 145 main jet with the needle one position richer (which seems to be bang on CRX)I have installed MSR barkbusters, the factory roost gaurds just don't cut it in the heavy slash.

I just started doing mine so I can't give ya any kind of perfomance report yet, but this is the recipe I'm trying to follow;

1.USD forks setup by race tech inlieu of conventional forks.
2.Scott upper/lower clamp w/stabilizer.
3.Stroker 350 big bore kit w/ torgue cam and sx-1 exhaust and head work TBD.
4.PSI jetless inlieu pumper carb.
5.Vortex air box by Kientech Eng.

Gearing TBD.
Flywheel milling TBD.

Thats it for now, I just hope I don't fry the YZ until this is finished.

The Uni seeems to work fine. There is a performance differential between mine and a stock TT-R The downside is increased exhaust level. Big Gun has three different inserts for their system. I have the spark arrestor version in now. It is still too loud but better the the original non spark arrested insert. The other insert available is the quiet version but is considerably more restrictive....CRX

Snorkel and baffle removed.
NoToil filter.
Needle raised one notch from stock.

The bike still pops a bit in the middle of the throttle range. I'm raising the needle one more notch today.

WOT seems OK. A plug chop yielded a nice tan plug. But, I may try a richer main jet anyway to see what it gets me.

I'm interested in a header and silencer, but am concerned about noise levels? Anyone add an after market exhaust that isn't too loud?

Other things under consideration:
HC piston from Yamaha.
Vortex airbox.
Pulse Charged Intake (can I use this w/ the Vortex?).

Anyone have any experience or comments on these?
