i was thinking that the power band in a two stroke might be bad for hill climbing where as a four stroke would be more proportional with the amount of throttle you are applying.

or maybe u can just pull the clutch in a little on a hill if the two stroke is to fast.

anyone out there that has tried both?

hey

If i were you i would go with a 2 stroke. even though it has powerband that's not a problem, it gives you more power and speed to make it up some difficult hill climbs.

The power band is great, but only if you are in it.

a two stroke will give you power that is proportional to the twist of the throttle, but the "gain" function will change dramatically over the RPM range.

A four stroke will give you much more predictable power over its RPM range.

If you have the appropriate skill a two stroke can really shine. If you are beginner and have trouble attacking the hill at a rate that will keep you in the power band you will be a lot better off on a four stroke.
