It's great to see Kevin once again on top and running with RC.  RC's top priority is clearly the championship, but losing at Unadilla will make him even more determined than usual this week.

That's going to make for some great action at Washougal. But I don't think anything will keep RC off the top step of the podium next week.

Seems Eric Sorby thought the track was to long

Why Eric Sorby got DQ'd at 'Dilla

When was the last time you saw someone get black-flagged at an outdoor national? It happened yesterday at Unadilla in the second 125cc moto to Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider Eric Sorby. After having just broken the top ten, Sorby was disqualified from the race with ten minutes to go by AMA Pro Motocross Manager Duke Finch for repeatedly cutting the track.

According to Finch, "Eric was cutting the track by going behind the banners on the inside of the new uphill to get a smoother line. I gave him the courtesy of remarking about it after we saw that he was doing it, and we were hoping that he understood he was cutting the track, but when he just wheelied over the new banner the next lap around, we said 'That's it!' and black-flagged him." AMA Pro Racing official Jay Mitrowitz was there on the spot in that section, which was added to the track a couple of years ago.

"The thing is, Eric did the exact same thing last year," added Finch. "He did the exact thing last year and we told him about it after the race. Maybe he didn't understand, but those are the rules."

Sorby received zero points but no fine for the infraction. It will not affect him for Washougal this coming weekend, though not scoring any points at Unadilla - he crashed out of the first moto while running with the lead pack - he has slipped from fourth to fifth place in the rankings.

Good show for Kevin. But the results aren't surprising.

1) If there ever was a 4 stroke track, that's it. It's well-known. Also look @ Reed going to the 450F for this race. All the Canadian boys came down on 4 strokes and did well, too.
2) When interviewed @ Glen Helen, RC said he would love to have Unadilla taken off the schedule. He hates that track.

I think they should just call the 250MX class the open class, and let RC ride an AF @ 'dilla. :aj:

Senior,
Thanks for the scoop on Sorby. I was wondering what happened to get him black flagged.

Is it too early for RC to start protecting the championship? As he did in the last half of the SX series?

It's a great day for Honda when they can go 1-2. A 250 and a 450.

Does anybody know if Chad Reed pulled a lap time of about 2:08 in the 2nd moto? It said he did on the Racer X webcast and i was just wondering if he did. That would be unbelievable if he did!

Nephron - I fully agree. There's absolutely no reason to keep 2 strokes down to 250cc - within a year or so, all the 2 stroke guys are going to have to keep a 450 in the van for Glen Helen, Undilla and Washougal. As it is, the 250 guys are at a huge disadvantage and it just ain't fair. Let 'em run 360s at least.

I, for one, would love to see RC on a 500AF. That would be a sight you'd never forget, that's for sure.

Not even close.. the fastest lap of the day was K-Dub with a 2:10 ....

In fact, the third fastest lap was by Stewart, 2:13.

I saw that 2:08 Chad Reed pulled. I am not sure if it is correct, his best time reading stuck at 2:16 even though he had several laps lower than that. Maybe something was wrong on the tech end of it all. A 2:08 is unreal if it is correct.

KDUB!!!
I just read on Racer X that Kdub not even sure what tent he will be under or 250/450. But he is racing SX/MX next year. Reports before the season had him rumored to only be racing the outdoors. Good to see him back.

Reed's 2:08 was a timing mistake. His best time at the end of the day was somewhere around a 2:16.

By my calculations (I may be wrong), but Langston and Brown need only finish in the top 4 or 5 to keep Bubba at bay, with 5 races to go and a 98/99 point lead, Bubba needs to make up 18-19 points a race - it is going to be one hell of a finish to the 125 season once again (I'm hoping Langston makes good this year) !!! :thumb:

Since Langston dropped down to the 125's when he heard Stewart was out... I guess he better win it, lol.

Regardless, Stewart will continue to make them all look like spodes... everyone will know who the man is, doesn't really matter who the "Champ" is this year. The talk won't be about who "won" it, but how far up Stewart finished.

Good Job Langston did drop down or i feel we would have another Pastrana-loads of injuries.Notice how Grant had more crashes on the short time he was one the 250 than the rest of his time on the 125.

Hey Woodsrider, I thought that house was a little crooked after the explosion, and about that good neighbor, I aint so sure he still rides. He has a bike still but it never seems to get muddy. Too busy riding the street bike I guess. If you are ever in town give me a call. I have a extra KDX laying around, the owner skipped town to fly whirlys in Mississippi. It is a little rough but runs good.!!!!!!! Later jeff.
