I just heard on the news that the city council of Berkely Kalifornia is passing a resolution condemning the bombing of Afghanistan.

What a bunch of bleeding heart, liberal losers! Can we cut Berkely out of the rest of Kalifornia and ship it off somewhere else? Or just bomb it off the face of the planet!

I just don't get it . . . :think

Like I said before, it's real easy for those wierdos to comdemn this and that sitting in their cafe's drinking latte, even though none of them have ever had to fight for anything in their lives. Yah, diplomacy has been tried, didn't work. Sure they condemn the bombings, what's their alternative? I hate it when groups piss and moan about something, but don't have any realistic alternatives. Dealing with these yahoos is like dealing with terrorists- you can't debate logical issues with illogical people!

I have yet to see any of those latte' drinking pacifists come up with any kind of alternative either...I have only seen them condemming what we ARE doing..
I think that they would condemn Bush no matter what he does anyway....

I don't get it either, never will. I would like to send them on a little field trip, don't think they would go though. I still say it's Treason.

what do you expect from the land of Fruits and Nuts?

it took a fellow from Dixon Illinois (Ronald R) to plant seeds of conservatism in a few acres of Kalifornia: Mr Gorbachov, tear down this Berkley!

Visited Berkley once, back in '83, on a recruiting trip to Cal. About the only thing those worthless hippie freaks will fight over is a roach at a party. Needless to say I didn't go to Cal. I don't look good in tye-dye and Birkenstocks. :scream:

I hate to say this, but I hope a few planes drop in that town. Maybe THEN they'd get the idea. What friggen LOSERS! Wish they'd get their body parts out of each other's rectums long enough to see the REST of the world around them. And maybe they'd see that even though they are rotating on things themselves, that the world doesn't rotate around them.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I like their proposal "...that those responsible for last month's attacks should be brought to justice by having the United Nations sue Afghanistan for harboring terrorists."

Uh, yeah, that'll work... :silly:

I still think they should split this state in two. If you don't like to burn gas and eat meat then off to North California with you! Less hikers in my way... ;)

I saw her too, JP.

That's the one good thing in this aftermath -- the electorate will learn. Learn that some of the ideas the ivory-tower types come up with are stupid. Because, well, often they are stupid. Learn that much of what the America - haters have had to say for so long is not based in sound reason, but just some sort of irrational self loathing that is being projected on our society (rather than on one's self). That maybe it's okay to voice an opinion that's not the same as the one being force fed you in the media, particularly Hollywood, because what do you know? -- A) the Hollywood opinion is stupid; and B) other people think like you do, but were also afraid to speak out.

I say let 'em keep talking. The school boards. The lefty groups. The politicians. They are being "smoked out" and exposed to sunlight just as the terrorists are. And our country will be the better for it.

I can't believe she was stupid enough to appear on O'Riely's show... sheez. Speaks volume of her common sense.

FoxNews.com has a story on the whole incident.

I love this comment:

A couple of well-publicized incidents and the city's history have already fixed in some minds an image of the Northern California community as a troupe of leftist hippies banging peace drums and smoking funny little pipes. The Wall Street Journal Web site includes a daily roundup of stories entitled "Berkeley's Useless Idiots."

It's Berkeley - what do you expect?

Now, as far as the comments about 'off to Northern Ca with you'..... I'd say there are a heck of a lot more rednecks north of Santa Rosa than south. There are towns in true NorCal that I'm not sure I'd venture into w/o packing a side arm. And no, it's not because of the gangs.

I know. And there is Central Cal too. It's mostly the Bay Area. Just like it's mostly LA / Orange County where you'll find... never mind.

Well, yeah, Yuppies. There I said it. Most of you dirtriders excluded of course. :p

As I mentioned to a friend, "What's a off-roading, gas-burning, meateating, beerdrinking (redneck at heart) Californian to do? The rest of the country thinks we're tofu eating barefoot hippies."

Ah, well...

Politics...ugh. The world would be so much better off without any of it: left, right, or otherwise.

All I need is a cool buzz, a tasty wave...wait, that's Spicoli...here it is: give me a screaming two-stroke, state-of-the-art suspension, a steering damper, and the open desert and I'll live forever.

I just hope CNN goes broke.

No offense, but honestly: what's so great about this guy? For the last couple months I've made it a point to watch his show every night due to his praises being sung loudly and universally on DRN.

I do find him entertaining, but he seems like nothing more than another arrogant, condescending know-it-all.

Just my $.02. :)

"nothing more than" those rotten things? B.S. That's easy to say if you haven't fought the fight. But while he does get overbearing, he also is persistent to the point of not allowing people to weasle their way out of positions. And was willing to hang it out there, as the only acknowledged righty on a national news channel conducting interviews. As to your earlier statement about politics -- it may be distasteful, but it's necessary that you remain informed and part of an active debate (no matter how wrong-headed you may consistently be). Our entire scheme of government was founded, and dependent, upon an educated and diligent citizenry. If the Founders knew what dolts we'd become, I have a strong suspicion they'd have chosen a different system. :(

Okie:

A guy selling a book? **arrrghhh* Finally a guy is willing to take on the "headliners" and he's discounted by his own, rather than appreciated.

I guess I'm a DRN bookseller, btw? ;)
