the 10th digit of the vin represents the year.
For example: 1988(J), 1989(K), 1990(L), 1991(M), 1992(N), 1993(P), 1994(R), 1995(S), 1996(T),
1997(V), 1998(W), 1999(X), 2000(Y)
2001(1), 2002(2), 2003(3), etc.

I 100% agree any other year has red with alittle bite of white on the side panels then again they could be aftermarket vin would help alot.
The side panels and air box are what give it way even if there are aftermarket panels honda change them ever few years on 250 so it petty eazy find out what years they are unlike CR125.
Sorry Brandon but 92 had a diff side panels

Thanks for the responce dudes. So I'm right in thinging that you lot think its a 90/91 model then. I've got some more photos in my profile album because I'm finding it hard to put any more on to this thread.

My Vin is a UK one and reads HM(square with cross)ME03-2203755(square with cross)

Am I right in thinking that the swing arms changed design at the end of 91?.

The bearings replace kits from allballs for the 91 and 92 are diff number kits so I have to say that a yes.

The S/A was the same between 90 and 91. Heck, the only difference was the front fork. 91 was the last year before a complete redesign. The 92 was a whole new ball game.
