I recently pulled my forks out of the steering stem head and base to grease the stem bearings. I slid them back in and tightened everything down. I just noticed that the upper fork tube must have been just slightly twisted when everything got tightened down, because the fork boots are slightly twisted.

My question is: Do I have to loosen the steering stem head and twist the upper fork tube back, or can I just loosen the fork boot clamp and let it straighten itselft out (the latter of course being way easier (...wishful thinking?) ;) .

I've never had fork assemblies apart, so don't know all the details of the internal workings or if the twist should be of any concern. Seems like it wouldn't be since they twisted pretty easily when out of the steering stem unit.

Thanks!
