LOL, I don't remember if I thanked you for all the help or not but I really appreciate it. (you should have beat the boy when he wouldn't load his bike up though) :).  And talk about ravines, I thought you had fallen in one too.  I figured you were busy with school.  That crazy fool of an ambulance driver, tried his best to put me in as much pain as he could.  At one point he yells out TRACKS! and hits them at about 65mph.  I yelled at him and told him I was not dying, just get me there smoothly. :)

Ive got plenty of room in the truck, the wife said she might (I doubt it) go but she won't be riding.  The last time she did that she tried to take out the bush and the fence in the front yard.  Shon, that was riding at montgomery with us, said he wants to go but has to clear it with his wife.  I have a room allready.

We'll have to keep a bunch of people around you so you don't get left for dead in a ravine this time. :)

Hey Strick or Blaze:
Im sure you guys know the answer to this:
Last time at moon rocks we ended up at the radio towers and running out of daylight we thought we would buzz back on the road. We stayed on what looked like the main road, went over the cattle grate and followed the road all the way to the bottom where it T 'd into another road. We turned right thinking it would start heading back to the Dog Skin Mts and the staging area. Well, we went a few miles and it didnt seem like it was taking us the right direction and since fuel was an issue we turned around and headed back the way we knew. So does that road lead back or what? On the map it seems like there should be a road that hooks up.

I think I am visualizing the road you took, and I definitely know where the cattle guard is below the towers. What happens is the road you were on actually parallels the main moonrocks road and would eventually lead you to it. Once you got to the main road you would going in the wrong direction. Not because you made a wrong turn, the road just heads back to the northwest.

Are you coming to the ride in February?

If you want to have a moonrocks escort, I will oblige any time you want to head up here.

Is there any kind of initiation into this Reno ride? I'm a local Carson City boy looking for some dust to eat. If I show up with the wrong color do I get beat up?

The only initiation is to show up.

You won't get beat up, but you might get left behind. :p

LOL I resemble that remark, don't nose dive into a ravine or anything like that.
I believe the initiation is you must do a rain dance with a live rattlesnake, right Sir T.
380 are we on for dinner at Ruby River? I'm buying

Don't know what kind of bike I am bringing this time Strick I'll see what the dealer has in Febuary then decide. Your house for pre-ride video watching? to ensure the proper state of mind or lack there of, whichever the case may be.

LOL I would never call you crazy, not for free anyway it costs about a 150 dollars an hour to get a Clinical Psychologist to call you crazy and then of course I would just blame it on your parents. Besides sane people are not any fun at all I'll take a crazy friend over a sane one anyday.

There is NO initiation. You WILL get left behind (at times). AND there will be NO, I repeat NO, country music!! Leave that country music in the 'woods'. Here in the desert it is head bangin' territory.

I really wanna see Strick do the head bangin' thing - I'll bring Offspring & Metallica. Get that long hair whipping around and he's plain dangerous:)

Then I wanna see Strick's face when I put in the Shania.....

OK... I don't want to sound stupid, but can someone give me the details of what the Valentine Reno Ride is all about? I am sure it is a great time, but I don't want to read 14 pages of posts to find out why. I guess I am lazy as well.

3 days of some of the most varied desert riding imaginable. From fireroads to waterfalls (dry), and single track galore. Moonrocks has it all. People from all over the country come to spend time riding, socializing with people they have typed to, but never met, and enjoying some Reno type night life. I provide the storage of bikes for anyone in need (most do), and the porta-potties. This is the 3rd year, and it is a blast. I give up my season's first race to help put this thing on, and love every minute of it.

You will meet some of the best people you may ever meet in your life!

I would to say thanks to you all for allowing it to be here!

Hey Strick, this event seems to be growing by the day! My friend was out at sand moutain last week and ran into the bitch from hell blm police. This blm cop gave tickets to everyone for everything!! He has been going out there for 5 years and never had this happen. Lets just hope shes not in our neck of the woods in February. How many riders can the moon rocks area handle at one time? I just hope we dont get any complaints from the residents in the area because we have so many people there.

The Moonrocks can handle a LOT of people. And about residents complaining, I dont think their will be much a problem. Their is yearly races held there which attract 200-300 racers alone. Say 3 people per racer come, thats over a thousand people out there. :)

Blaze is right. You should see it out there the day after Christmas.

This is not an 'event'. It is a ride. No permits, no insurance, no organization, a bunch of people coming to Moonrocks to 'ride'.

How could BLM ticket anyone? Unless they were endangering someone, or driving a vehicle drunk they would be SOL. I don't understand ticketing.

I hate to break the news, but I won't be attending the Reno trip this year after all.  I have to watch my pennies for my move in April.  I'll just live vicariously through FC22 on this one.
