Awesome.  I got to ride one New Years day and it was a great ride.  It has a smoother rev than that of my YZ, and did not hit as hard, very fun bike to ride.  Only thing I can say I didn't like was the hole I had to stick my fingers into to get to the hot start button.

Yes, the hole is a bummer...I am getting used to it though. Yes, the power is why I like it so much. It has more than my yz did but handles way better. I am having the 6 speed put in next week and going to the 53 tooth rear sprocket. I have ridden a little over six hours the past two day with Strick out at the moonrocks. Great riding, damp ground, no wind and about 65 degrees out. Oh, and if anyone talks to Strick...ask him about making snow angels.

Hey all,

Sounds like one H E double hockey sticks of a good time, I just started reading the post and only got 4 pages into it when I realized that I was still reading stuff from Oct.. So to ensure that I don't miss work tomorrow (by getting caught up reading) just want to check some things.

1. Don't get mad for asking, but is there going to be any quad riders out there? ( my buddys girl rides a quad and b4 I ask if he is in, I need to know).

2. What is the latest on the Hotel situation? Any rooms left at the Peppermill, and if not where are the procrastinaters staying?

Thanks,

Can't wait to play in Reno, with or with out a quad!!

Call or e-mail the Peppermill. Lot's of quads ride at the moonrocks. I have never even been on a quad. You will NOT be able to ride the tight stuff, which means you will be stuck in the simple stuff mainly.

Hello all, just wondering if you all would mind if a couple of us Canadian riders come down for the ride in Febuary. I have 3 guys for sure and possibly 3 more if its cool with you. We would need directions once we got to reno to the staging area. Also can we camp right at the riding area? Is there any firewood? We have self contained rv's so camping up there shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for any info.

Come on down Kokanee, there will be a few of us camping at Moonrocks.

I was thinking we should organize a cord of wood and get donations to cover the cost - unless you folks want to drag a few trees down with you?

I was thinking the same thing. But then my senses kicked in and decided the lure of the hot tub at the hotel was just too strong! ;)

Can you believe it...DIRTJUNKIE... finally booked a room at the Peppermill.
Well I would have booked it in October but I finally finished reading all the threads. To any locals with 4strokes are you jetting your bikes or running stock. I just bought a 02 CRF450 any suggestions? ( and don't say sell it) I can't wait to see everybody and meet new people too.
I've sat for 2 years and watched people having a great time at this gathering and it's about time I let the inner child out to rampage...!!!

I just got through reading all the posts and you can count me in as a second year attendee. Last year was excellent riding conditions and I look forward to trying out a few bikes on the drag hill again.

Yes Brian, I will be bringing the CR this time. I learned my lesson :-) I'm trying to talk my better half into bringing her XT225 but so far she insists on bringing her DT125.

Can't wait to see everyone again...

Scott,
Bring all the bikes. Joe's trailer is a 3 rail, right? Or I can haul a couple of extra. I haven't decided if I'm taking the trailer or hoteling it. Either way I can take at least 3 bikes w/o any trouble.

Another question for you guys in Nevada, Are spark arestors required? Up in Canada there are no pollution laws so we can run pretty much anything we want. Any info is appreciated.

Hey Kokanee, which way are you going? If you are going through Spokane or near it, we can caravan from here. We are leaving Spokane Thursday afternoon or evening. And bring lots of your namesake beer please . . .

Dirty Dave, go to the West Chapter forums, there is a separate Reno sub-forum right next to the SoCal riders forum.

OK this event sounds like fun. May I make one suggestion. Someone needs to update the first post in this thread with the important stuff because I lost the Hotels link and now I got to go back and find it.

If the bike storage thing is still going on and I can find the Hotels link in time I plan on being there Friday and Saturday :)

Hey, it my old joke telling buddy jschner, where ya been??? There's another thread in the West Chapters Forum all about the Reno ride with pertinent stuff about hotels, phone numbers, attendees and their info, group dining events, etc. If I can figure out how to link it here I will. Good to hear you're going to Reno too!

Here ya go!

Bike storage is one of my specialties - there will be room for your bike(s). Go to the link that Natalie-getmetoca has posted above for more info.

FC22 we are going on thursday early in the morning, and I,m not quite sure of our route. We want to get down to reno as soon as possible. If you know of a fast way to get there and we can caravan let me know. We will be leaving through Oroville and from there who knows? We have never drove down to Reno so we will go whatever way is the fastest. As far as the beer goes don't worry we have a couple of connections at the brewery.
