OK... So i cant decide to replace all the plastics with the original vintage plastics, or update it and make it look newer. At first i didn't like the original plastics but the more i look at the pictures the more i like it and want them to bring out the true age of my bike. But i like the newer plastics because... they look better and they will fit.

Its for a 1983 KX250. The Vintage look IS STOCK LOOK!!!

So basically I'm looking at the rear fender and side panels. everything else I'm going to keep the same.

What do you think looks better?

The "Vintage" look for sure. Mix and match doesn't do anything for me.

The only thing I can say is, that monster rear fender with the number plates is too much, I'd go with the newer look.

Got to go with the original fender/number plates! (Maybe it's just because an 83 KX was the first real MX bike I ever rode)

Buy extras, though, because that rear fender does break easily with all of that extra plastic back there.

Vintage! It looks so cool even car manufacturers are making new "vintage" looking cars. Mustang, Camaro, and others.

Or maybe it is because I am so "old" as Gomer pointed out :nener:

yeah, i'm leaning twords the vintage look. But.. still not sure. And its one or the other because... the rear fender is expensive, and the side panels are expensive.. rite now i have some UFO universal rear fender on it(no side panels)... perdy ugly.

I had to take another look at the bike, man, I can't believe how much the bikes have changed in a quarter century! The up the left and over the top of the engine pipe is wild. You can actually SEE the spark plug on that beast! It takes a small monkey and a six pack just to change the plug in my '00 YZ250. I don't even want to get into what it takes to change a plug in the 4T bikes these days.

yeah thats the thing i like about my old bike. It has a lot of power, it is fast and gnarley. And very easy to work on. i can change the spark plug in about 1 min.

Just a pain to find parts for, and it seems to break a lot..... (stuff you wouldn't think would normally break) oh and it is a lot heavier than the new bike. Probably weighs as much as a modern 450F. and suspension ain't to good...

geeze its not that hard on my '02 yz125. I just go at it from the left side of the bike with a flat wrench. it is impossible to get a spark plug wrench in there.

Perhaps you don't have sausage fingers like me. I imagine there is a little more room in the frame with the 125 as well.
