Clips are what women put in their hair, magazines are the storage of ammunition, or of course for reading. Ask any law enforcement officer.

We Texans are just extremely proud of our state, that is why you see the shape of it on everything. Oh, by the way that was I-20 you were referring to. I live 15 miles north of Tyler.

Texas is also unique in that we have everything. From the eastern "Big Thicket" that is a swamp and rainforrest, to the Texas Hill Country, to the arid west, the mountains of Big Bend, to the northern plains. Of course our coast is not as pretty as Florida's, but we have one and we are damn proud of it. Like the commercial says "Texas, it's like a whole 'nother country." Name another state that has been it's own country, that has as colorful a history. You just can't. From Adobe Wells, The Alamo, Texas Rangers, and San Jacinto. We are unique, and our pride is unique also.

There is no Ohio list, thank goodness. This place sucks. I think everyone should leave. That way I can have it all to myself! :nener:

Change the poll to Kansas vs Kalifornia.

The property taxes here almost made me pass a stone. I forked out nearly $800.00 for my two cars, 00 MPV(V6), 01 Frontier (V6), and two bikes, 00 KDX200(single), and Ninja(I2). I paid twice as much for the Ninja as the KDX eventhough the KDX is worth thousands more!

Yeah, give me Texas taxes anyday!

No personal income tax in Texas. That would save me about 2.5%. Hey!! If I move, there's another $52.50 in my pocket each year!

Applies to each person as they enter Texas. Learn 'em & remember 'em.

East Coast and California-types pay particular attention!
1. Pull your droopy pants up. You look like an idiot.
3. They are cattle & oil wells. That's what they smell like to you. They smell like money to us. Get over it. Don't like it? I-20 and I-10 go east and west, I-35 goes north and south. Pick one.
4. So you have a $60,000 dollar car. We're impressed. We have quarter-million dollar cotton strippers that we drive 3 weeks a year.

HaHa those are my favorites, especially number 4 :aj:

Wouldn't stop me ;) How about we just cut off the bad parts of California and keep the good parts. Send the left wing nut jobs with the bad parts as well.

I did 25 years in California... never liked it much. Let me clarify that a bit.. if two thirds of the Californians would move to somewhere else, then California would be a wonderful place. I just like to do stuff without a crowd sometimes. Been living in Oklahoma for 12 years now. It suits me fine. Texans are a lot like Californians except they talk funny. :)

Texas has everything? Come to BC and Alberta, together we have everything, and it isn't so damn hot (hottest is about 40 C/100 F in the summer) but not too cold (might get down to -15 C/10 F I think that's the conversion). It does get cold in northern alberta, but they do have oil. Oh yeah, we also don't have to register our bikes (but we do have to register our guns, damn left wing government) and can pretty much ride wherever we want (not in town of course). You texans have big egos and I'm sure it's nice down there, but don't think that there isn't other places just as good (or BETTER!) than yours.

Come on Speedy Alberta is one of the coldest places in the world. I have in-laws that live outside of Calgary and they spend their winters in California because it is so damn cold there. I was there visiting last May and it SNOWED. I live in a place where we consider anything below 80f a cold snap. I almost died from hypothermic shock after about 2 minutes in the snow. :yikes:
I must admit that Canada is a beautiful place in the summer. I am flying to Vancouver ( if they will let me on the plane) this Tuesday to do a month long tour on my motorcycle i left up there last summer.I pretty much have an open itenerary on this trip but will do Banff, Jasper, across to Bella Coola then ferry over to Vancouver Island and explore there for a week. Then back to White Rock and up to Whistler then probably to Washington state to check out Mt. Baker. :ride:

It gets down to -35 to -40 degrees celsius here and thats not including windchill. We don't even live in the northern section of the province. Canada is awesome except for that the riding season is only like 3 or 4 months ( we'll try and leave the gov't out of this one ;) ). This year it didn't even get warm until July

The cold really isn't that bad. You just gotta learn to put away the bikes (or add studded tires) and get out the sleds and snowboards. I have to admit that last winter in Edmonton was a little tough to take (it's flat as a pancake, and -50 C (-60 F) is no picnic either), but the diversity makes this place ever greater.

I don't have a sled, can't afford studded tires, and can't snowboard worth a damn :bang:

Actually I've only tried snowboarding twice and I was getting not to bad after the second time ( but oh my goodness my butt hurt for days after..lol  )

It is a sad sad day in my house when the bikes have to get put away for the winter :ugg:

Texas Sales

A keen Texas lad applied for a salesman's job at a city department store. The store was the biggest in the world and sold everything under the sun.

"Have you ever been a salesman before?" the boss asked during his interview.

"Yes, I was a salesman in Texas," the lad answered.

The boss took an immediate liking to him and told him he could start the next day. "I'll come and see how you made out after we close up," the boss said.

The day was long and hard for the young man, but finally it was 5 o'clock. The boss closed up the store and found the lad sitting, slumped and exhausted, in a chair.

"How many sales did you make today?" the boss asked.

"One," said the lad.

"One?" said the boss, obviously displeased. "Most of the sales people on my staff make 20 or 30 sales a day. How much was the sale worth?"

"Exactly $101,334.53," said the young man.

"How did you manage that?" asked the boss, flabbergasted.

"Well," said the lad, "this man came in and I sold him a small fish hook, then a medium fish hook, and finally a really large hook. Then I sold him a small fishing line, a medium one, and huge one. I asked him where he was going fishing, and he said he was going down the coast. I said he'd probably need a boat, so I took him down to the boat department and sold him that fancy 22-foot Chris Craft with twin engines. Then he said his Honda Civic probably wouldn't be able to handle the load, so I took him to the vehicle department and sold him a new GMC 1-ton pickup truck."

"You sold all that to guy who came in for a fish hook?" the boss asked in astonishment.

"He didn't come in to buy a fish hook," the Texas boy explained. "He came in to buy a box of tampons for his wife, and I said to him, 'Your weekend's shot. You might as well go fishing.'"
