Im using Mobile 1 MX2T Pre mix and Bel ray gear saver in the tranny. Im not to concerned about the synthetic vs petrolium based oil for premix during breakin (but then again Im no scientist). Ive seen alot of posts about the Mobil 1 and thought Id give it a try, I bought a case of the stuff from Auto zone, Im good for 6 or more months. I used Bel ray H1R in my sons 2003RM 125, 2001 RM 80 and changed to Mobile 1 also, less smoke and splooge.

Going to get a bike from noth american cycles,and I live in california.Have any of you regestiered your bikes with DMV? Was their any problems?Do you think I have to pay taxes for regestiering bike?

'02CR, Yes. You are going to have to pay sales tax if you register it. When it comes to what bike is the best yhada yada yada crap, it depends on the rider and their riding style. I take what the mags say like a grain of salt. Especially since I off-road these machines. Anyway, I bought a '03 KX250, absolutely love the bike. I almost bought the RM, but off-road contigency was important as well as low-end pull and egros. I felt the best on the KX size wise, the Kawi's offer the best off-road bucks program, and have the best egros for little people.
I assembled my bike at my job where I bought it from. The Fr. wheel, bars, controls, Fr. fender need to be assembled on the bike. Also multiple items need to be torqued and checked. I dissassembled my entire machine upon arrival at my house. I greased the linkage and steering head bearings, and torqued and tightened alot of bolts. This is very important, since most bikes only come with a drop of oil on the bearings and often some bolts are lose.
My KX was purchased on the Kawi finance deal from the Kawi+Suzook shop I work at. The owner decided to sponsor me and give me a great deal for my accomplishments last year ('02 ECEA Womens Enduro Champ, 2nd in National Enduro Series). I paid a little over cost (very, very little), and sales tax ( which I don't mind since I register my bikes to race anyway and would have to pay it sooner or later). I was also given a hundred dollars free in accessories. The shop I work for has more KX and RM parts in stock then any shop I know of in a five hour or more drive of here. So I consider the deal I got was pretty darn awesome!
The 'zook is awesome bike, but having ridden both I think the new KX is a easier mount to live with in the woods.

Oh yea, more fuel for the debate. I use Yamalube Y2R mixed 40-1 and Type F tranny fluid in my gearbox. This combo is used in all my bikes including my boyfriends with no problems ('03 KX250, '02 YZ250, '00 CRE250). Since I change my gearbox juice every race or every two-three rides, the thin tranny fluid never really gets contaminated. I've tried the expensive 80 weight Belray and other brand stuff but never noticed a differences.

You should always take apart and grease everything on a new bike, you should also check all of the fastners and torque specs.

I have the # for several in town; will call them this week before I move up, so don't bother - just thought you'd know off the top of your head or something. And I'll be in Santa Maria this weekend to look for a place to live so I may not need a storage plave but most likely will.

I was going to tear it down before riding but I didn't... I broke it in and now that I ready to put all the mods on, I'm going to really tear it down and grease it up.
