Well, I finally made it out to the local dealerships.. First I went to the <gasp> Honda dealership and they had absolutely nothing.. Then I went to my local Yamaha dealership and they had a few left overs.. A 2002 WR250F, and a 2002 YZF426F and no thats not a typo, they were 2002s.. Both say $5300 or best offer (it all says say for the holidays.. ).. Retail on KBB for the WR250F is 4130 while the retail for the 4230..

I had an XR100 about 6years ago, so Im thinking the 426 is a little too fast for me even though Im 6'1 200lbs.. I dunno but $5300 for the WR250F seems a little high considering some kawi dealerships are letting their 03 125s go for around $3200 + taxes..

Im going to check out a few more dealerships and see if i can pickup a good deal on a left over but what would a fair offer be on that 02 WR250F?

Thanks..

John

I don't know if you like 2 strokes or not but last week I picked up a new Kawasaki 2003 KX250 for $3995. I orgionally had a problem fouling plugs but I switched to a different oil and the plug problem is gone. This bike is a rocket, runs awesome. I'd buy it again. No more problems of any kind.

I don't know what would be a fair deal on a 2002 wr250 but for $3995 I'd personally by the KX250 again. I can't imagine a 2002 wr250 from a dealer being much cheaper than that.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info Ghostrider.. Ive been hearing that a lot of people are getting killer deals from Kawi on 2 strokes and I plan on hitting up a kawi dealership this weekend... I prefer a 4stroke, but it seems like it will be easier to get a good deal on a 2 stroke so I might just end up going that route..

I happened to talk with a Kawi dealer today and he mentioned 03 KX 125 manufacturer's rebates. If you are going to get one u better hurry. They may even be all gone already. Also, F&S Suzuki has really great prices if you are looking for one. They are in Dayton, Ohio and ship anywhere for 200 bucks. But they might sponser you and waive the 200 shipping. Talk with Mark there at 1-800-783-4245. They were asking $4495 for a new 04 125. They may have some 03s left also, but I dont remember for sure.
