you cross 2 acres of cleared land with 2000 yards of dirt delivered? A new track!

Anybody got any suggestions on building one, as far as how you actually build a table top vs double and setup some tall berms? We'll have a bull dozer this weekend and an operator but he has no experience building tracks. We need help quick!

well I'll know for sure tomorrow, but it will more than likely being taking place Saturday and maybe Sunday too?

The variable is this, we have a friend who's pulling some strings to get the equipment out there (dozer and front loader) and he'll have it confirmed tomorrow.

If you want, post some contact info and I can let you know Saturday where we are by the day's end. Maybe you can come help us break it in right on Sunday ;)

well the track building turned out pretty cool. We've got 4 nice berms built, a single that's about 5 feet and stepdown table top that the lip is about 7 feet high and it runs out about 20-25 feet. Not bad for 10 hours with a loader and 1800 yards of dirt! My battery went dead in my digital camera right after we got started so I didn't get any good pics though :(

Haji...Dennis Medsker (of http://racingsmarter.com ) isn't too far away. He lives just outside Florence, SC. He is a really nice guy. A bit odd, but anyone who is as into what he does as Dennis has to be a little odd.

He came out and gave us all some riding help one day. I was really impressed how he was able to give each person something that made a difference in their riding. If you ever get up this way, it is well worth the time to look him up.

I'll get the pics up probably after next weekend.

HLG, my parents live in Charleston. My wife and daughters don't ride (yet?) but I was thinking about coming up with my son, bringing the bikes and maybe we could swing by?

We've been taking riding class with Vince DeVane and JB Ballard, Vince is an Ex-factory rider who qualifed for Loretta Lynn's as recently as 04 and came in 2nd in the over 30 class (JB still races but I'm not sure what his highest level was?). These are 2 really fun guys and good teachers. Nothing like having a factory rider jog across lanes to give you a thumbs up after you finally got a turn right! hey, it only took about 30 tries :aj:

The lesssons are at the track in Bartow.

The track we built is in Brandon, about 4-5 miles from the Costco you're talking about. Hwy 60 and Miller is the closest "major" intersection. Let me know what day you want to go and I'll go with you at lunch or evening? The property owner's dad lives on there and might open fire at strangers

I'm in Augusta more than Columbia these days, but let me know when you get up this way. I can't really ride until I get my neck fixed, but I can stand on the side of the track and lie about how I would do it if I was out there. :)

lol, I've gotten pretty good at that too. "The older I get, the faster I was"

Here's a couple of pics of the new track. None of them show te berms real well, but you can get the idea. I guess I'm gonna have to work the camera myself to get better ones :)
