A 125cc 2stroke or 250cc four stroke would both be good bikes for you, if the proper parts were added to make them more trail-oriented bikes. There are better choices for the trails like the kawasaki KDX, honda CRFX, and ktm MXC, or EXC line up. Try a few bikes out and see which one fits your riding style better. Most any bike can be modified to fit your ergonomics.

If you only ride trails, check out a KDX200, KTM200EXC or GasGas EC200. I love my GasGas and wouldn't trade it for a four-stroke. A 125 will be tough for trail riding, unless you modify it (flywheel weight, etc). A 250 four-stroke could work for you, if you feel comfortable with the weight and power. Just remember that more power means trees come at you a lot faster. I think only you can decide if you're ready for a 250. It's taken me 5 years to finally move up to a full-size bike. Good luck, and keep the rubber side down!
