I'm not trying to get personal. Just wondering what others keep in their fanny pack at an enduro (tools, misc., etc.).

I used to carry some tools on my old XR 400 in a Moose fender bag. Last year at a Gulf Coast enduro the bag came open (and the tools ended up 1/4 mile back opn the trail) just as I was about to die of heat stroke so I said the heck with the tools and headed for the truck.

Leatherman wazoo tool (can't remember the model but it's big), 8mm on a 1/4" drive ratchet and extension, 10mm combo wrench, some safety wire, spark plug, plug wrench, zip ties, PowerBar, clutch lever, master link...I think that's it. Haven't been stranded yet.

Farmer John is the guy you want behind you when you break down, that's for sure!

RetSenior - John probably has two or three spare master links in his pack or stowed somewhere on his bike, but he just forgot to mention it. ;)

I didn't have any 2 Moonrocks, but I have 2 now. 1 RK XSO which is the chain on my KX & 1 Regina thing that fits the KTM.

I have found that the RK standard masterlink which has small pins & no o-rings will fit just about any chain in a pinch.

Couple things I forgot to list:
Folding saw
Space blanket
Bic lighter
Box of waterproof matches

These things are in their own mini bag that clips on the side of my fanny pack.

I have a pack bolted on my rear fender, i hate wearing fanny packs while riding.

I have:
sparkplug
sparkplug wrench
mechanics wire
Leatherman
FRS radio

all wrapped up in rag and in 2 zip lock bags so its waterproof. It's nice to have a clean rag in a mud race if you need it.

Yeah ,
I used to put so much stuff in my fender bag that when it came open on mile 74 (and near heat stroke) I decided not only was I not going to go back to pick my long lost tools on the trail (I'm told never to ride backward on the trail), but I was going to find out what everybody else brings before I restock.
Thanks for all of the great advice.

What does that thing weigh?

FJ keeps all of that stuff in a small samsonite suit case that he zip ties to his chest protector. I heard he inquired about having his rear shock revalved to compensate for the weight of a small air compressor that he was considering adding to his rear fender. :)

No fanny, I carry a Camelbak H.A.W.G., lots of room.

In a tool roll:
6" Adj. wrench
6" Vise grips
6" Needle nose w/ cutters
6" Straight blade screwdriver
8mm wrench
10-15 6" cable ties
C02 Inflator
JB Weld
DID Master link
Swiss Army knife
Scott's Rider wrench w/
8,10,12mm sockets
straight, phillips blades
4,5,6mm hexes
Plug Caddy w/ 2 new plugs

In the rest of the pack:
Plug wrench
Forceps
Roll of electrical tape
1" x 15' tow strap
Carabiner
Pen screwdriver (bits in handle)
Space blanket
Outdoor Research Mini medical kit
Trau-Medic Field dressing (for bad bleeding)(you never know)
Roll of t.p.
No fog cloths
Bottle of aspirin
Small flashlight (depending on riding area)
Some quarters
Copy of my D.L. and Ins. card

A master First Aid kit in the truck, or which ever vechicle I'm in.

It seems like alot, but it's not that much. For the speed and distance we go(including myself and everyone out there in cyberland) there's alot that can go wrong in a split second. The better prepared you are the better you will come out of a bad situation.

I carry a few bucks, my registration, a pack of smokes and a few tools and a plug. Mr friend, MRRMX carries a spare pair of nylons and some makeup just to freshen up on the trail.
