wheel disaster

I have an xport pit bike with 10" wheels and have recently had loose spokes for about 10 rides, tightening them each ride i have been able to go and ride again. but this time i came back and one of the spokes had snapped, i am going to get a spoke rebuild with shorter HD spokes, and possibly 12" wheel on the front. Is it possible to ride my bike with the spoke snapped as its only one, or is this a bad idea?

i had 1 spoke missing on my RM125 had no problems with it, but its probably best to get that sorted
