wheel lacing

Hi there.

I am currently trying to setup myself a pair of motard wheels.
17" front and rear rims with a set of spare stock hubs.

I can get the stock spokes for 21"F and 18"R from my dealer.
Can I like cut it short 3" from the front and 1" from the R and
get it rethreaded and lace them onto the new rims???

Or can i just order them via online to make my life easier? :yeehaw:
