where do you buy your Brembo brake pads?

I'm looking for a place to purchase Brembo brake parts. Also If your not using bremo pads. What brands do you suggest? And what are your feelings on metal sinter Vs organic carbon? These wave lock rotor's a very pricey and I'd like to get as much life out of them as possible

we have great success with Galfer brand pads; try typical "ktm" applications, part # FD138 in front and #FD165 in rear. the best (imo) on rear is the "blue" compound(#1434).
this pad lasts "forever", compared to any other soft(organic/kevlar,...) pads and is very easy on rotors,too-great "feel" and not too sensitive (a problem with recent ktms)
front pads wear much longer than rear, so i would try their "green" pads, which have greater "bite" and a higher friction coefficient, but are still real gentle on rotor wear.
Galfer also makes great sintered pads, but they're much "harder", and will cause much greater rotor wear than the above mentioned compounds.
ask around, and you should be able to find a dealer with the galfer "blues", or i'm sure they can order them easily!

Jack; Are those part # for your gas gas? Where do you buy them? I like your description of the blue & red pads. Any way you can look to see if they carry Husaberg stuff? I'm pretty sure the 02 520 ktmexc pads will fit.

Marlin, I'd second the Galfer recommendation. You could order them from Rocky Mountain ATV if you do mail order. Or I believe Lansing Cycle has them, or the KTM dealer in Brighton which is closer to you.

marlin, those part #'s are for ktm/berg, or most brembo brakes; the newest ktm rear (03 sx & all 04's) have a different part #; gassers use nissin brakes (since 2000 & on), which are standard fare in jap bikes (cr style)
those blue pads are the best pad i've ever seen for brembo rear applications; we stock these pads for my ktm "buddies", and they're the best selling pad we stock!! (thankyou KTM!!)
try local ktm dealers-they need your support more than "rocky" etc... while you're at it, we've had good success with changing out the front brake line, to a galfer braided style- we were able to improve the brake feel significantly, and it needed less frequent bleeding to maintain a sharp response. see you at marquette nat'l?? jack(dist 23)

I spoke with my local KTM dealer and he said they sold some kind of moose product. I Ended up buying a brand called Breaking. It's a semi metal compound. The parts manager recommends them. He said I'll go through them quicker but my rotor will last longer http://www.mxsouth.com/braking/brabrapad.htm .I purchase this product from a vor,husk,atk and Husaberg dealer off the west cost. As most will say when doubt call the dealer :laugh:

Yea, I use the Moose, metalic pads. They grip great.

The Moose and DP are good. I've used Ferodo pads but they are tougher on the rotors although they last longer.
