will an oem ring fit a vertex piston?

i have a vertex piston for my 125 and all i need is a new ring. i dont have enough money to order a vertex ring and pay for shipping at this point. will the oem ring fit the piston? i should have enough to swing by my dealer and order that.i have been trying to get my bike going for like 3 weeks now which would have been one week or so if fed ex wouldn't have lost my new piston and ring i had ordered:pissed: since they still cant find it this would be my only option to be able to go riding this weekend.thanks for any insight

Thats a definate NO. Do not mix and match rings with pistons you are just asking for trouble.

thanks guys for letting me know. i figured it wouldn't work but just thought i'd toss the ? out there and find out for sure.while fex ex is taking their sweet time processing my claim,im gonna order another vertex kit and gasket's so hopefully i can ride next weekend. when or i should say if they find my stuff i''ll return it for a refund.thanks again for your help :cool:
