Fun thread!

Let's see: I met Amy Grant, (very beautiful in person!), when she was shooting a video for VH1 on a remote location movie site. She visited with my family for 20 minutes. We were the only ones there besides the crew, as I had been tipped off about this shoot by another employee of my company.

Merle Haggard is my dads' second cousin, but I've never met him.

I've not only ridden with the infamous 'Dark Lord' MXBundy, but also with the notorious donut eatin' a454elk!

Ty Davis and Larry Roeseler live real close, so I see them around town occasionally, and once when we were at the Phelan sand hill, Gregg Zitterkoff was practicing there! Travis Preston also lives nearby, but I haven't seen him yet.

Let's see. . . where do I begin? When I was a kid, we moved from Massachusetts to sunny California and our neighbor was Rick Barry of the Golden State Warriors. You know all of those Barry kids playing Pro ball now? I changed diapers on all of 'em at least once. Growing up next door to them (in the 70's) meant that I got to hang out with the Warriors, Oakland Raider greats of old, Stabler, Guy, Bilitnikof (sp?), Casper, Otto, Ben Davidson, etc. as well as Chris Spier of the Giants and too many other sports legends to name here. It was the coolest thing! When I grew up and formed a band, I got to play with B.O.C. (coolest guys I have ever met), drank vodka with James Hetfield of Metallica fame at the Stone in SF, hung out and drank beer with Jake E. Lee (back stage at the Stone) and opened up for Alice in Chains at the Omni. There were a bunch more, but I was too plowed to remember. :aj:

Nobody is more famous to know than Big Lou, Blue Thunder and Thunder33.

With friends like these, you don't need to know anyone else.

I just remembered a couple more.

I met Mick (mandkind) Foley and got his autograph. He is one scraggly dude!

I also ate dinner one night next to Micky Gilley.

I almost went riding with Big Lou this weekend but his schedule did not permit it. (actually he is just a pit sally)

I, along with KDX220rm, have both talked to Jeff Emig's sister. Man, she is much better looking than Jeff!

zio..dude, you are like rasputan or something..you keep coming up with stuf. long story short when i was 15, sis 16 had her friend, leah 17, with us out at the lake. ofcourse i liked leah. anyway the next day my sister says to me(she was mad at me?..?) "i know you thought you were cool out at the lake around leah, but the grease was just rolling off your face" i was devastated. there was only one way to regain my pride..i married leah and to this day that line about the grease is one of our inside joke lines. so you see mr zio, you have revealed your super powers to me one too many times.

I was at Supercom (Industy trade show) in Atlanta and a vender took us to a braves game on night while I was there and I meet Evander Holyfield. Shock his hand. It was about a year after the Ear biting thing. My coworkers did not believe me. They though I was pulling there leg until they put him on the Jumbotron.

Also I was at the Gym in Amarillo and the WWF was in town. I was struggling the bench press and out of now where this had grabs the bar and pretty much flung it on the stand. I look up and it was that Vader guy. Hugh dude that wore some little leather thing on his head and had his hair shaved like ram horns. The hole circuit must have been working out there. Hacksaw Jim duggit and about 4 others were with them. I don't realy follow wrestling, but that big fella was popular at the time. It was at least 8 or 9 years ago

I saw this and it reminded me of it.

My girlfriend is from California. One day while I was browsing Destry Abbotts site, she saw something about Ty Davis and how they both race together in the desert. She said she used to be next door neighbors with the Davis's. He's gone racing all the time and she doesn't like to be on the road and stays home quite a bit. She said they were the nicest people!!

I went to high school and knew pretty well BMX Dirt star Brian Foster. He won the Xgames gold on dirt stunt jumping 2-3 years ago. He came back home about 2 years ago, had blown ACL, we all went out and had some beers, it was Xmas time. Went up last year to Xgames in philly to see him, he had his knee repaired, I think he pulled a bronze in his event, didnt see him though. I snuck into the pits and walked around the corner and had Carey Hart right in my face, like 5 inches, all i thought to say was Hey... I was dumbfounded and had used up all my camera film. This was the day b4 his backflip wreck.
Brian is a really cool guy, down to earth. we all chilled and carried ourselves like school pals, not acting like he was above anyone, he doesnt act like that. Even though on our 10 yr reunion, people said they wanted around the time he was coming back to town, so they were go to delay it????
I met my share of Ravens around here too... Foster is someone who we used to hang out and goof off in english class and stuff like that. I actually went out and bought his Dirt Champs figure... Pretty cool to have an action figure of one of your friends!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

This was a pretty good topic so I thought I'd bring it back up.
Anybody heard of Anthony Smith? He's an up and comming Country Artist and he's from right here in Metropolis. He's got several songs he's written performed by other artist, Montgomery-Gentry, Faith Hill, etc. that have been in the top 40 and even wrote one of the songs in the movie "We Were Soldiers", 'Didn't I Bleed' or something like that. Anyway, he's singing his songs now and has an album out called, 'Who Invented The Wheel', its really good. Anybody else? :yeehaw:

I sat next to Red Skelton once on a flight from Toronto. I got upgraded to first class and sat right next to him. Nobody but the crew, myself, and his companion knew who he was. Most of the time, he slept with his hat down over his eyes and an unlit cigar in his mouth. Later on, he pulled some colored pencils out of his coat and I got to watch him draw clown faces for the stewardesses. I did not bother him since he did not look too healthy as it was a short time before he died.

I met Tommy Lasorda in a bar once, got his autograph for my son.

I used to date Melanie Griffith before I met my wife………………..IN MY DREAMS!

I missed this one way back when....

Went to HS with Coby Jones & Eric Wynalda - Olympic soccer players.
Gave directions to Steve Martin in San Luis Obispo
Met Robby Gordon at a race shop he shared with folks I know.
Threw up in front of Heather Graham during a HS party at my house

Until I get to meet & ride with Big Lou my life won't be complete.......

Brian
