yz clutch basket movement.....

i took the clutch cover off because it was leaking, and the clutch basket move about 1/16in in and out from the engine.

there is a slot in the case that i can see inside of the tranny, and i can see a gear moving with it also.



is this normal for a yz125?

Yes, a little free axial play is ok.

Yes, normal on YZ250 too. I noticed it and freaked out and bought new basket, hub, thrust washer, etc. Only to put it back together and the play was still there!!! :)
