Re: Showa fork seal replacement, 01-cr250
Folks, The center bolt is what threads onto the locknut at the end of the dampner rod, it has to be removed when replacing the seals on the showa fork. My question is....my manual says the gap between the center bolt (hand tight) and the lock nut should be between 0.006-0.008". Once the center bolt is hand tight, the locknut is then turned back upto mate with the center bolt before the assembly is then tightnend into the fork assembly. I cannot get the gap to this tolerance, instead my gap is near 0.025-0.040 just from visually inspecting. My manual says to check the locknut installation and the center bolt installation if not in tolerance, this is no help at all. Nothing seems wrong with the shock I just don't know what this all translates into...
Jeremy...any help?
Thanks.
