1991 CR125 no spark!!!!

my 1991 CR125 has no spark. i traded a frame for this engine. (no real lose) But it had no spark so bought a new plug, still nothing. i think it may be the spark plug boot/ignition coil.
I was reading around online and it said that without a kill switch it could permanently break the circuit. could that be whats wrong?

BTW the ignition coil on this bike was off my seized 2002 CR125 engine but looks the exact same. could that also be a problem?

believe it or not every once and a while my 1986 cr 125 will not have any spark and if i heat the cdi box up with a heat gun not crazy hot just slight heat and give it a good wack with a rubber malit and bang spark lol i learned this from a 25 year honda small engine tech
