200 to 220 conversion and oil question

I am interested in converting my 200 to the 220 by changing the cylinder and piston. Leaving the 200 head and carburetor, continue to use my pro-circuit Platinum pipe.

My question, any obvious problems in this conversion, are the flywheels the same on 200 and 220 etc. (220 low end torque).

Second question. Have been using Belray H1R oil mixed 32 to 1, have considered going to a different oil and a mix rate of 40 to 1 or higher depending on the oil recommendations. Comments are welcome obviously. Thanks

I had Eric Gorr bore and port the jug from my KDX200 to 225cc with great results.

I've always used the Belray H1R (full synthetic) at about 44:1 with no issues.

You also need to change the powervalve slider or it will contact the piston because of the bigger bore. Head must be changed or modified, again, because of the larger bore.

Flywheel and everything is the same. The extra low end of the 220 comes from the extra displacement, the porting, and the 33mm carb.

I'm one of those "oil is oil" guys. Any quality name brand oil should provide more than enough protection, especailly in an engine like the KDX's, which isnt' working as hard and revving as high as say, an 80 or 125.
