I am re-assembling the airbox on my 01 YZ250 and am wondering if I should use grease between the foam gasket, and the rubber boot, and air-filter plate, or should I just reassemble it without grease as from the factory. I do a lot of sand dune riding and am paranoid about sand getting sucked into the engine and scoring the chrome bore. Any comments appreciated especially those of Eric Gorr.
Thanks in advance

When you put your airbox back together you should use 3M sealant and/or "Monkey Snot" This is reccomended because it is impervious to gas and oil. It won't break down or leak if done properly. Not sure what their part # is. Do not use regular silicone as it can and will bresk down over time.
Good Luck!
