91 CR 250 rear shock question....

I need to find a new/used shock for my bike. Before bending over for the local Honda shop, I'd like to find one elsewhere (****). I've found a few but none are for a 91. Here are my questions: What years are compatible with mine? And does it matter if it is from a 125 or 500?

I've found a few ranging from 86 to 02. Compatible?

What is wrong with the old one? You may be able to replace the seal on the shaft. May be able to rechrome the shaft also.

Thanks for the replies guys!! It's appreciated. She's pretty much done for. Threads are all stripped and it seems as though someone has tampered with it before. Reeeaaaal fine crafstmanship on his account :coocoo: . As soon as I got the top bolt out, it pretty much self-descructed..... I found a place over the weekend "Machine Racing"....and shipped it down.
