How much oil should I put in my forks? They are the 50mm marzocchi magnums. How do I check the oil? Do I fully compress the forks or rebound them? Springs in or out? There is a rod inside the connects to the fork cap, do i let that fall into the fork or hold it when I check the oil? I need new fork seals soon (small leak), Do I need any special tools to change the fork seals?

Thanks in advance.

With a name like John "pentonman", shouldn't you already know this?

According to my manual, the oil level is checked with fork compressed, no spring, and the rod in place. Fill the tube with 7.5 wt to a level 135 mm from the top of the stanchion tube. Make sure you work the rod up and down enough to be certain that the cartridge is full of oil and no air is trapped inside before taking your measurement.

Good Luck,
