99 kdx rear fender fix

I was wondering if it is possable to replace the rear fender on a 99 kdx 220 with a 99 kx rear fender. I see that you can order this item from Fredette but I would rather try to make it myself. Has anyone tried this and had any luck?

I tried it and failed. At least I have a spare rear fender for my riding partners KX250. :) The plastic is not the correct size, length or anything. So I basically paid for the part twice. My suggestion is spend the few extra bucks an order one from Maier direct or Fredette.

don't get it from Maier cuz IMO their plastic is cheap. the color doesn't match that great, and it is dull not glossy like OEM.Get it from Fredette.

The fender is the same wether you get it from Maier or Fredette. I ordered mine through Fredette and I get a Maier fender.

ohhhh I see. That i didn't know. In that case i would just stick with the stocker unless you like the maier "look".

check with maier they offer a shiney oem looking fender they've come a long way .specify u want the new plastic or u could get the old dull style
