'99 or '00, or '01 YZ 250? Any year better?

I am looking to pick up a 2nd play bike. No motocross, just some trail riding, and playing around. Kind of a nice change of pace from my WR 426.

I am trying to stay on a budget and keep the new purchase to around 3500.

Is there any big differences between the years of 99, 00, and 01? Anything I should look out for? Seems I can find 99's for 3 grand and '01's for 4 grand (only 1000 more dollars).

Any input would be appreciated.

They are pretty much the same from 99 to 01, but it got a little faster each year. Not a lot, but there is some difference. Any of them would make an awesome playbike as they have real grunty low end and decent suspension.
