I bought a new Maxis IT tire for my 99 kx 250 and accidently got a 120/90X19 instead of a 110/90. I didn't realise it until I mounted it. Should I pull it off and try to sell to a KX 500 owner, or should I give it a try?

If you sell it to a kx500 rider, it wouold be at a loss so why not just give it a ride or two to see how it handles. The worst ive heard the 120 does is want to climb out of ruts bec its so big.

The Maxxis IT run a little small, I just put a 110 on my bike and it looks smaller than the dunlap 110/ 756 I took off. I will be ordering the 120 next time.

Cool, looks like I didn't waste $65 after all. I was also thinking a taller sidewall might also offer some rim protection for trail use, but then my tall first gear gets a little taller in tight nast stuff. I hope it wears like iron because it took two guys to get it on at the shop and that was with a tire machine. Thnx!

The tire should be wider and not taller.

Actually, the tire will be wider as well as taller. The 90 refers to a percentage of cross-sectional width, which is 120 millimeters. 90% of 120 is more than 90% of 110. Get it?

I put the 120/90-19 Maxxis IT on my 03 KX250 over a month ago and am very glad I went with the larger size. The tire is very good in everything except mud, and is holding up well. The extra sidewall does help on the trail. The front IT also works well.
