Athena topend?

Hi,

Im looking at a yz125 with an athena top end. I know there are a couple different types that fit this bike.

He says it has the stock bore race top end on it. To my understanding this is exactly the same as the OEM topend but with better cooling. Is that true? I am looking more for reliability instead of performance. Also do I have to use an Athena piston ring combo with it?

I am having trouble on finding info on these topends.

someone must know about this topend. I want some info about it before I go look at the bike.

maybe ask your local parts shop or call athena for help?

alright well I talked to the guy at my dealer today and he said its just a higher quality top end that lasts longer and cools better.
