I recently went on a technical ride in the Colorado mountains - I have a 98' ATK 260LQ - the tranny stopped shifting - ended up in 5th gear only - lost all the tranny fluid out the bottom - couldn't find where it leaked from. On the way back to camp, smoking the clutch, on jumps(whoops) the tranny would ratchet when I landed. I don't think I'm ready to dig into splitting the cases. I don't know what happened - weird!

Are there any sources in Colorado? Does anyone know what happened? I know the engine is a Rotax, but is the tranny as well? Or, do I tear the bike apart and ship off the tranny to ATK in Utah?

Thanks for your help!!!

By the way, before the tranny blew, I was hanging quite nicely with the other riders - a KTM 530, KTM 525, KTM 450, and a KTM 300

So you rode the bike back to camp, over jumps, in fifth gear with no tranny oil?

I wonder why it makes noises?

Okay - wrong order :whoa: - by the time I got back to camp, my tranny was still holding fluid...then finished draining all over my trailer!
