Is this ride starting up on the hill where they start the enduro? Bswift and mx547 are really tempting me. Mx are you really up for rocks?

Some sections are WORSE. There are some really fun, open, jeep trails. It depends on which trails you ride. I would like to hear from the trail guides as to what they think. Gruber doesn't have anything as fun as Whiterock, some of the trails are a blast. Randy, who hates rocks, says Whiterock is one of his favorite places to ride.

It's Most Definitely Still On!

We are still going. Rooms are booked, plans are being made for trailers, etc. CAL might even be making it out despite his last post! Ya'll come on down! We'll be at the Holiday Inn Express (I think). Just look for all the dirt bikes and Missouri license plates.

Don't fret too much, I am an ex MXer. I just gave in to my woodsy tendencies:confused: . White Rock has some gnarly sections, some really fast sections, some awesome 1/2 to mile long jump filled uphill/downhill sections and some rocky sections as well as beautiful terrain. The rocks aren't as bad as say Chadwick, but they are there in some sections and you will want some protection for the bottom of your bike.

Relax, this is a fun ride.:) And yes, it is the Holiday Inn Express in Fayetteville. Just ask the front desk for any of the KC Riders Group

Add another mx'er that will be out of his element also. What time is the KC group leaving the Holiday Inn on Sat? I'm about 30 minutes from Fayetteville and wouldn't mind convoying down to White Rock from Fayetteville.

BAAAAAD NEWS

Well,
Even though I had pretty much decided to go ahead and make the trip....while riding this afternoon, my transmission went BOOM . I lost third gear, and then it immediately got hung in first gear. I had to ride back to the truck in first gear. I can't move the shifter at all. And I had just ridden with BigLou Friday, and was looking forward to White Rock. The DRZ had been a tank up until this point. Looks like I'm out until next year.

Lou, you remember when my bike stalled at the truck and I almost fell over. Apparently, that was a warning sign of transmission failure.

CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds good! Grub before ridin is always a great idea! I will be at the Holiday Inn by 7:30.

CAL-Sorry to hear that. We might be able to scrounge up a bike if you still want to ride. Just let me know.

As far as grub goes, I hear biscuits and gravy does wonders to lower your center of gravity for ridin'!:D

Hey Rick,
I've heard you were a bit concerned about the weather. Don't fret my man. This snow they get will be gone by Thurs (if they get any)and it is supposed to be in the 60's to 70's by Saturday. The trails will be perfect and there isn't much mud at all down there. Heck one year we were there when it was a balmy 4 degrees w/ 10" of snow and the next day it was 50 degrees and perfect traction.

Meangrn, we won't be able to be there until later that evening, but thanks anyway.:)

Local weather update: Saturday is suppost to be mostly clear, with highs in the lower 50's. Tonight, Wed and Thur the weather man is calling for rain, sleet, or snow. Which means they have no idea what its going to do. Take about CYA! The weather between tonight and Thur should allow for good traction with all the clay in NWA. Just hope it gets warmer!

KDX220rm,
You bet. Current local forcast for Friday, cloudy, high 48, low 24. Saturday, partly cloudy, high 51, low 32. NWA has had snow, rain and sleet since last night. Inclement weather is suppost to move out of the area by Friday AM, and melt away. Should lead to some great traction on Saturday!

Thursday night local forecast: Saturday high of 56, low 32. Partly sunny, or partly cloudy. Depends on how you want to look at it. ;) Roads are clear locally. We still have a mix of snow and ice on the ground. The temp has been gradually rising a few degrees since 4PM. Friday forecast calls for a high of 53. Everthing should be melted. Traction should be good, with a little mud thrown in for good measure.

Is there a offical list of who's makin the trip?

Can one of the KC riders comfirm that you are staying at the Holiday Inn Express just of Hwy 71, which is know called 540? I want to make sure I go to the right Holiday Inn as there are two in Fayetteville.

Thanks,
Sawblade

MX547,
Duh, you just beat me to it. I'm fairly sure the KC group is staying at the Holiday Inn Express just off 540. We can meet in Springdale if you like and convoy the last 10 miles or so to the hotel.

Yeah, it's the Holiday Inn Express, not the Holiday Inn towards Rodgers. The Hol Inn Express is on the north side of 71 (540) and phone # is 501-444-6006. Ask for the KC Riders group.

The list: myself, Big Lou, KDX220RM, meangrn, 94ruck (I think), MX547, Sawblade, Kaw Boy 5, and 10 other riders from KC and Topeka.

We will pit down @ the lower trail head off of the Mgt Area access road into the park-it's situated along side the White River. See everybody there!

Thats the correct address. Your should turn off Exit 16 I believe and follow Shioh Drive to the Holiday Inn Express.

Afternoon weather update: The skys have clear, sunny and 45 degrees at the moment. Most of the ice and snow has melted already. Tomorrows forecast is now calling for a high of 60, low 36. Again, partly sunny.

MX547 and me will be at the hotel by 7:30.

See everyone tomorrow.
