I am so G*d d@mn sick of this crap!!!!! Okay, Susan Smith, I thought you were the biggest piece of trash walking the Earth and I still think you are a waste of oxygen but you have competition. Andrea Yates. Post Pardom Depression? I think not. You are a sad pathetic excuse for a human.

I sit here and look at pictures of my son and think, "How could someone do this to their own child?" Now, it is not only the parents though. This garbage heap that killed that little Danielle girl in California, what? I hope that you burn in hell! I saw her from a video that they had on the news and she was playing with a toy that my son also has. For some reason, that made it really hit home. This could have been my child. This could have been my baby that was taken and killed.

Then there is this dung heap here in KC. This white trash filth pig didn't kill his baby, no! He killed his girlfriend's baby. And she let him! Thank God they are charging both of them for murder. He beat and tortured this 1 1/2 year old girl until she died.:ugg: Where was the father? In Jail. Yes, this mother obviously was willing to throw her legs in the air for any guy who would look her way. I have know women like this. They would bring home a total stranger and be like, " this is yer new daddy. What was yer name again?"

I am sorry that I am so fired up about this but it makes me physically sick to think about these poor innocent children and what they have had to go through. What is this world coming to? My son, who is 18 months, has a habit of coming up to me and hugging me, out of nowhere. That is better than any motorcycle ride, movie, music or food! That is the best part of my life. I could never imagine doing anything to make that go away.

I pray this kind of nonsense can go away and these idiots will be removed from society.

I pray these dregs of humanity burn in hell. After they spend some time in general population (if they survive it). I hear these types are not looked well upon by the more, shall we say, hardened criminals in prison.

I too am sick of this. Today people are more interested in trying to "understand" what makes people act rather than punishing them for their actions. In my opinon, understanding is the first step to forgiveness. I don't want to forgive, I want punishment!!

The Andrea Yates trial is truly sad. :(
Believe it or not Post Pardom Depression is real. It's also a sign that there are other deeply-rooted mental problems. I think her husband should share in the blame as well. I personally don't think he's mentally stable either. If I were the judge, neither of them would have the ability to reproduce ever again.

Post Partum Depression, Insanity, had a bad hair day, whatever.

A rabid dog must be put down. I'll donate the bullet, the gun, the time, AND THE TRIGGER FINGER.

Anyone who would murder a child has no place on this earth.

My sentiments exactly! I don't care if a person is insaine, crazy. on drugs or has a hang nail, anyone that is a threat to society is a threat to society end of story. Save rehab for someone that hasn't killed anyone. As soon as someone crosses that line they've passed the point of no return.

PPD is quite sad. But, it is no excuse to drowning five innocent children! I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Manic Depression and Social Anxiety Disorder but I didn't run home and kill my son. You know what I did? I figured out what got me that way and I fixed it. I spents lots of time and money on drugs and phsycho-babble BS and none of that helped. I helped myself. I know not everyone can do that but damn it, quite using it as an excuse. That stupid b***h needs to die, like she made her children die. That will cure her depression!

Yep, I agree. She already said she did it, why waste time arguing about why or what pretty spin type words we can apply to it.

I say make the execution pay per view, the death chamber needs new carpet in Huntsville.

One thing I have always had trouble with is the insanity defense. To me it's a given that anybody who murders another human being in cold blood is insane. Sane people don't kill their own children. These people should be prosecuted and punished the same as any other criminal.

while i don't have kids, or even a little sibling, i couldn't imagine killing another human being; let alone a child. just send em' to jail and keep them out of society.

while the insanity defense is stupid, one thing i don't understand is the "hate crime" thing, i mean i'm all for longer sentences for murderers, rapists, etc. however aren't all crimes against another human hate crimes? you don't kill someone you love. so that still doesn't make any sense to me. every crime should be tried as a hate crime.

Let's see. . . :think . . . people who admit to murdering children? No question about guilt? No accusation of cover up? Or police wrongdoing? . . . . :think . . . Yep.

You know what we can all do about it? Be better fathers. If you ask me whats wrong with this country- its men. Men are to blame ultimately, for not taking responsibility for their own actions, for not being good role models, for not being good husbands. All those low-lifes who lie, cheat & steal, all the drunkards who come home and beat their wives, the crack dealers with 5 different children & all with different mothers, the workaholic who puts $$$ before his family, the priest who molested all those little kids, <edited by moderatorSRKXR>who keep pushing all these ******* agendas... all men.

I'm not knocking women in any way, saying they're not as important or responsible, or whatever. I believe we're equal, but different. We have different body parts, different roles, different responsibilities. I just firmly believe that the way things are... men being primarily responsible as head of the household, etc.... we're to blame. Sure, Andrea Yates is a wacko. There will always be some freaks out there who do some awful things on their own. :ugg:

Amazing that after that post you felt the urge to carefully elaborate that you weren't knocking women. :think

Zio, that's pretty wierd putting <edited by moderatorSRKXR> in there with the rest of your list. You were making sense until that part. What agenda could he possibly have that could be in the same classification as wife-beaters, crack-dealers, and child-molesters?

The problem is with how these people got this way, not the way they are now. It is probably too late to fix how they are now, or at least it's too late to fix what they have done. You are right, the responsibility lies partly at least in the things that happened to her in her childhood, and possibly from her parents. I don't think that the "baby-killers" should be given any leeway for this, but if you want to fix the problem in our society you have to start with finding out how they got that way.

Funny Zio, Al **** said nearly the same thing.
Unfortuately many other people take the same view. That's why Men and fathers in general aren't afforded the same rights during divorces, custody hearings etc..
Normally I'll just hang out in here and drop a one-liner or two and get out. The subject of men in general being the root of all evil I take exception to. Post-partum depression, although very real is no more justification for murder than any other type of depression brought on by other events in one's life, such as losing a job, divorce, or any number of life's little traumas. But since it's a woman thing, somehow it can be different. After all, who wants to put Mom in jail.
I'm with LT.

I agree about the fathers of this country need to be stronger and quit abandoning the nest-same goes for women. The kids have to be raised in a healthy environment-nuff said.

My solution is a bit more primitive. As I have gotten older, I have turned my views on the death penalty-I'm gradually becoming totally against it. My reasons-don't bother as I used to scream the same argument.

BUT, I would rather see the penal system resemble more of what it should: something straight out of Turkey. YOU go to prison, good luck to be alive in 5 years, let alone getting a college degree w/ 3 squares a day. The prison system has become overcrowded as it is liveable by thugs based on thug law. How many times has a con repeated to get back in? We've made it too civilized for the wrongdoers. Yeah, petty crimes may not need the full on dungeon but violent offenders should get Hell on Earth.

Deterrence is the key, and there isn't any right now.

Was just talking about this with my wife.

We just can't imagine how someone could do this to a child. I have a hard time just dropping off my 8 month old daughter at day care each morning! Then, the father comes home and starts defending his wife...WTF? If he KNEW his wife was like this, he is just at fault for not taking actions to prevent her from doing what she did.

Her parents didn't kill her children. She did. No doubt she's a whack job for doing it, and that postpartum stuff is no picnic (try dealing with a post-miscarriage), but cripes, she did it. Maybe the old man is somewhat to blame for not paying attention to the signs, but she did it. She's the only one who is responsible for their deaths.

All this blaming how a person was raised is just another way for people to shirk responsibility. People need to take responsibility for their actions. America would be a better place if they did.
