I'm an almost 60 yr. old returning to trail riding with a 16 yr. old son. His bike is a 2001 KTM EXC 250 and mine a 2003 KTM EXC 300. We live near the Perry Mountain MC Club riding area in Central AL. Our local shop is Performance Powersports in Clanton, AL.
Just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed the forum as a guest and look forward to jumping in on some discussions.

Wow 18 years!!! That's awesome that you are returning to the sport! I took a 13 year break myself and have decided never to give it up again... There seem to be many people who have joined this forum who have similar stories.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks KDX Chick! Great to be back!

I tried mountain biking as a sub, but, it just ain't the same. I enjoy MTB but cutting trail is way too much trouble since you have to grade the off camber and even blow the leaves off the trail before you can find traction. Plus, a fat man in spandex is just plain wrong. There are some awesome singletrack MTB trails around here.....reeeaallly tempting!!
However, we are blessed with even more off-road parks, good clubs and lots of private trails to share with friends.
My 16 year old gearhead son (YES, I'm proud) is the one that kept pushing to get the bikes. Also, my son-in-law was the high school history teacher of a young AA SERA Enduro/H.S. hotshoe in Meridian, MS who has just picked up a factory KTM ride. The kid got my son-in-law riding and then............here we are!!

Welcome to the site

Be sure and go to your User CP and update information relating to your location, type of riding, etc. After that grab a spot on the couch and tell us a bit about yourself. How long you have been riding, what kind of riding you prefer, where you are located, etc. We will do our best to hook you up with some fellow dirt bike enthusiasts.

Check out the Southern Spodes forum for opportunities to hook up with fellow DRNers. Kick some bootie in there and get some rides going.

We have a goodlie number of SERA members here.

Again, welcome to the site and shout if you have any questions!
