Looks like I should have invested in some :ugg: Oh well grips and throttle tubs are all part of it I guess. 989 (Little Patman) was learning to ride a clutch bike yesterday and layed my 315 down on the gravel road. Fortunatly that was the only damage to kid or bike besides a little ego. Any brands better than the others? May as well include some bar ends in my parts order.

I have the Moose Racing bar ends and they work very well. I assume that you have aluminum bars on the 315? All you have to do is cut out the ends of the grips, slide in the bar ends and tighten them. They also come in silver or black.

I have the aluminium Domino bar ends - they seem to do the trick. You can get them almost anywhere, Maniac Trials for example. If you can make sure that they cover the thicker end of your grip (where you lock wire the grips on), as the first ones I had didn't, and the grips still got butchered. I have found that the Renthal soft compound trials grips seem to be the best in wet and muddy conditions, though you probably don't get it as wet and muddy as NZ in Texas.

what ever you get make sure they are nice and big !!! (not for cuzmetic,It will keep from lossing a leg when you eat it and sticks WOT and not even your leg would stop a trials bike)

I have the domino bar ends too, they work quite well. I wonder if the Moose racing ends would fit the Montesa? The aluminum MX bars I have looked at have a much bigger inside diameter than my Domino trials bars. Domino makes grips with the ends already cut for bar ends, only a dollar or two more than the standard ones .

Problem solved. I got the Domino ends & Renthal medium grips with the ends already cut out. A little brake cleaner to slide them on and some saftey wire to ensure they stay put plus my own little insurance policy. I cut a black (of course) spray can cap the exact OD of the bar ends then drilled a hole in the center that was a snug fit over the insert end of the bar ends but a loose fit at the back cut portion at the bar end to be sure I don't have any problems with a sticky throttle. A little carnuba wax on the plastic and bar end will ensure a slick surface. I doubt the Moose ends will work since the trials bars have a significantly thicker wall, good suggestion though.
